My clients are often concerned that Employers or governmental agencies can discriminate against persons who file bankruptcy.
They shouldn't be. It is illegal for either private or governmental employers to discriminate against a person as to employment because that person has filed under Chaper 7. It is also illegal for local, state or federal govenmental units to discriminate against a person as to the granting of licenses (including driver's license), permits, student loans, and similiar grants because that person has filed under Chapter 7.
Don't obtain your bankruptcy information from your auto mechanic, gardener or tailor. Only an experienced bankruptcy lawyer can give you the straight facts about bankruptcy and how it may benefit you and your family.
